Laser scanning stones at Roker and Hylton- volunteer help needed

The laser scanning of the stones at Roker starts this week from Wednesday (10th) to Fri (12th) starting at low tide.

LOW TIDE TIMES
Wednesday 10th May 2017 10.14am
Thursday 11th May 2017 10.40am
Friday 12th may 11.18am

This activity was allocated only one day originally but because of the volume of new discoveries down at the Roker Pier site, scanning will now take place over two days.

We need a volunteer on Thursday at 10am to act as an assistant to Alexander (the Scanning Operator)  to hold the computer recording equipment while he carries out the scanning and make sure that the equipment stays dry.

Ian Stewart will be at South Hylton on Thursday to clean the stones there prior to their scanning taking place on Friday 12th.

We also need volunteers to help Ian clean the stones at South Hylton on Thursday in preparation to them being scanned on Friday.

If you are interested in helping please email Norman at  sunderlandsforgottenstones@gmail.com

Please attend the sites suitably dressed.
