A meeting took place in February which provided an update on the Sunderland’s Forgotten Stones Project.
Archaeologists are currently putting plans in place to set up site safety for the North and South Hylton riverside digs, as well as plans to laser record all of the brigg stones at Roker and along the river.
A site visit is planned with the Ecologist in the coming weeks – further updates will be added once more information is available.
The project is still on the look-out for dig volunteers, metal detectorists, researchers and volunteers to help with drawing at sites. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity – if you would like to help out in any capacity, please send an email to email@example.com and provide your name and area of interest.
Those who register with the project will then be added to mailing lists and given relevant updates when we have more information.
